The Grey Mare's Tail is a well known beauty spot a few miles from the busy town of Moffat. Some two hundred feet high it can be quite spectacular especially after a heavy fall of rain. In deep winter the waterfall sometimes freezes over and creates an amazing sight as well as an attraction for ice-climbers who like a bit of adrenalin rush. Definetly not for the faint-hearted
