The Crichton Church is set in the grounds of the Crichton University Campus. Like the surrounding gardens the church is rather beautiful and is very popular for prestigious weddings with receptions being held in the large Easterbrooke Hall only a few yards away.

Coincidently the artist used to sing in the church as a choirboy which combined with other functions boosted his pocket money by two and six (old money) a week. Not surprisingly this particular print is very popular with anyone who was married in the church or indeed who was employed by the health board with which the Crichton Grounds have long been associated.
